Shane Holunga is the manager of multiple large-scale mixed-use developments for major national real estate developers and investors across the nation.  He also leads the firm’s oil and gas consulting practice, assisting clients with environmental assessment, remediation, and regulatory compliance.

Corporate Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager, Central Resources, Inc., Denver, Colorado, 2009-2016

Led EHS efforts for international exploration and production oil and gas company.

Managed EHS programs totaling $315M in oil and gas assets in the U.S., Canada, Brazil, and Argentina; ensured regulatory compliance in all geographies.

Oversaw environmental due diligence and collaborated with executives to complete mergers, acquisitions, and divestments.

Environmental program management of $115M oil and gas fields in the U.S.

  • Managed environmental programs such as spill-response investigation and remediation, and site reclamation, and communicated corporate environmental program agenda to all levels of the organization.
  • Liaised with federal and state agencies to provide required documentation.

Acquisition due diligence management of over $200M in oil and gas assets in the U.S.

  • Supervised personnel and subcontractors for EHS due diligence of more than six oil and gas fields across the U.S. (Texas, Utah, North Dakota, Wyoming, and Michigan).
  • Traveled to five states and conducted wellsite and facility field audits and due diligence.
  • Reviewed documentation in Virtual Data Room to quantify and verify potential liability.

EHS program management of $200M oil and gas fields in Brazil and Argentina.

  • Collaborated with international colleagues to insure regulatory compliance; provided status reports to executives; and conducted wellsite and facility field audits in two states and three provinces.

  • Oversaw all requirements and documented all steps related to EHS compliance, including required training and OSHA guidelines.
Team Leader for Oil and Gas, Trace Associates, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, 2008-2009

Led client relationships and ensured delivery of high-quality profitable projects.  Program management included site assessment, remediation and reclamation, cost estimate and budget tracking, regulatory compliance, report preparation, and project closure.

  • Managed multi-site $1.4M assessment and remediation program for a major oil and gas client; oversaw disposal of materials according to laws and regulations; and ensured site was “clean.”
AMEC Earth and Environmental, Westford, Massachusetts, 1998-2008

Project Manager:

Managed $1.2M site assessment and remediation program at former rail yard, performed various natural resource assessments, and interpreted the impact of air, soil, and groundwater data on future site activities.

Co-managed over $1M groundwater treatment system and ecological impact monitoring program for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the National Guard Bureau at Camp Edwards, Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

  • Coordinated preparation and review of three consecutive annual treatment system performance monitoring reports for submission to the USEPA and MassDEP.

Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) Coordinator:

Managed all aspects of SHE policies for 100 employees, and conducted internal audits resulting in a 94% compliance score.

Task Manager:

Performed field investigation at defunct training range for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the National Guard Bureau at Camp Edwards, Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
