Mr. Werden is the manager of multiple large-scale mixed-use developments for major national real estate developers and investors across the nation. He leads the planning and review of environmental programs to mitigate environmental stressors that limit site development. He managed a 12-month, $2.5M remediation and systems repair project for a senior living facility in St. Louis, Missouri, where he led all planning, coordination, and oversight of mold remediation, selective demolition and repair, mechanical and plumbing systems repairs, and resident relocation support for 101 occupied apartments in the four-story, two-year-old facility. In addition, he had direct responsibility for permitting oversight, cost and schedule control and maintenance, and managing owner/owner’s representative coordination and relations. Mechanical systems up-grades and monitoring included a temporary-to-permanent dedicated outside air system (DOAS) and building-wide duct insulation for humidity control that was vitally important to manage condensate development as a source of mold on drywall. Close coordination between the construction superintendent and ownership, investors, and the developer was essential to project success.

Senior Environmental Specialist/Technical Delivery Manager/ Project Manager, CDM Smith, Denver, Colorado, 1992-2017

Managed the financial and technical performance of 80 staff in the Central US (15 offices; $6.5M in total salary). Led resource calls, evaluated utilization projections for staffing management, networked to integrate staff into projects, and addressed resource needs and workload balance.
